Rainy Day Drop off and Pick up Procedures

SEES Rainy Day Plan- Updated 9/10/16

We encourage you to carpool on rainy days.

Please let your child know what your plans are.

As the rainy season approaches, it is critical that we have a rainy day plan. Please read this notice carefully as changes were made and ALL grades are impacted.  Each day that it appears that the rain will continue through dismissal, we will call for a “rainy day dismissal.” We will post this information as the headline on our school's website if we are going to have a "rainy day dismissal." We will also send out a Remind Me text.  Parents can go the front page of our school's website to sign up for Remind Me texts.

TK drop off
During rain, we ask all TK students to enter through the main gate between 11:45-11:50 and go directly to Mrs. Meeker's and Mrs. Schwalbe's classroom.  TK Students will walk by themselves to the classroom without parents.
TK Pick up
Parents must park or walk onto campus and pickup their children at the classroom

AM and PM Kindergarten drop off –

The drive up lane will be open for drop off but Kindergarten teachers will NOT be waiting outside near the gate.  Students will walk directly to class without parents.

AM Kindergarten pickup – begins at 11:50 AM

Parents must park or walk onto campus and pickup their children at the classroom.

PM K pickup- 3:25

Parents must park or walk onto campus and pickup their children from the classroom.  Older siblings will wait in the multipurpose room until 3:25 when they will be sent to the K rooms.

Grades 1-5 morning drop off

The drive up lane will be open and students will go straight to their classrooms starting at 8:15.

1st grade dismissal

1st grade parents need to go to the classrooms for dismissal.  Gates will open 10 minutes early for 1st grade parents.

Non Drive up Pickup

Students who will be picked up by a parent will be dismissed AT THE CLASSROOM AT 3:00pm.  Parents who park or walk onto campus will be allowed in the gates at 3:00pm.  Parents will be asked for student names and classroom locations before they are allowed on campus.  To save time, please have this information prepared on an index card.  The school administration will also be verifying this information orally and will have extra index cards and pencils at the gate. Please let your child’s teacher know you will pick them up so they are not sent to drive up. At 3:10 all students will be sent to the cafeteria for pick-up.

Drive up Lane – Grades 2-5

The drive up lane will be open.  All parents in the drive up lane must write the following on a sturdy card, preferably a 3X5 card:  Child’s name, teacher, and grade.  The assistants will ask for the cards when you pull up and send them to the multipurpose room where your child will be waiting.  Assistants will escort them to your car.

Students in grade 2-5 that have younger siblings in 1st grade will go to the 1st grade classroom if they pick up their younger brother or sister.
