SERVICES AVAILABLE

 
Psychological Assessments and Evaluations
  • Assess for program planning, curricular strategies, behavioral and academic interventions, and special education services.
  • Determine social-emotional development and mental health status.
  • Assessments/evaluations originate from a Student Study Team (SST) referral; parent requests are also considered through our RTI/SST process. 

Prevention

  • Design programs for children at risk of failing at school.
  • Promote tolerance, understanding, and appreciation of diversity within the school community.
  • Develop programs to make schools safer and more effective learning environments.

Consultation

  • Consultation services by developing partnerships with staff, parents, and students to provide intervention ideas, problem solving techniques, social-emotional, academic, and behavior support, supply community referrals, and assist in improving the affective climate in the classroom and school
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community agencies to provide services directed at improving psychological and physical health. 

Interventions

  • Collaboration with teachers in order to assist and facilitate classroom discussions. Topics may include, conflict resolution, anger management, class meetings, grief and loss, divorce, communication, social skills, learning styles, ability awareness, deployment, etc.
  • Work directly with children and their families to help resolve problems in adjustment and learning.
  • Provide training in social skills and anger management.
  • Provide psychological counseling to help resolve interpersonal or family problems that interfere with school performance. Counseling services (crisis counseling and short-term individual/group counseling). Help manage crises, such as death, illness, or community trauma.
  • Provide referrals/resources for child and family counseling in the community.
