Intervention at SEES |
San Elijo Elementary takes great pride in meeting the individual needs of every student. Monitoring students progress through district assessments, state assments and classroom performance is our top priority. We provide many opportunities for students to receive additional services to support them in meeting grade level standards. These services consist of PRIDE (Pupils Receiving Individually Designed Education) and Excel.
PRIDE classes are offered before school. Parent receive invitations for his/her student to participate in these classes. These classes are offered throughout the year in 6-8 week sessions. Our PRIDE classes support mathematics, science and writing. These classes are offered for students in grades 2-5. If you feel that your child could benefit from these services please contact his/her teacher.
Excel services are offered during the school day with a focus on reading comprehension and early literacy skills. The purpose of these classes is to provide extra support in assisting students in meeting grade level standards and building confidence to increase classroom performance. Parents receive notification of his/her child's participation as well as intervention reports noting students progress. If you feel that your child could benefit from these services please contact his/her teacher.
PRIDE classes are held before school from 7:45-8:30. Students are invited to attend these classes based on their individual instructional needs. Parents receive invitations in the mail closer to the sessions.
Excel classes are held during the day. Students are pulled from their instructional day to receive these services. Parents are notified by mail if their child is eligible for these services.
All intervention services are coordinated by Carolyn Kalicki. For further information or questions regarding our intervention services, please email her at carolyn.kalicki@smusd.org.
